Wild for Drive Me Wild (Review)

HONEST REVIEW:

Overall: 5 Stars

Spice: 3 peppers

We get Theo's outlandishly boyish charms, of course, but we also get to see the serious side; the one he covers with bawdy jokes and filter-free comments. Josie fresh out of a long-term relationship, but she's not ready for anything serious. Theo would seemingly fit that bill except for one small hiccup: they're besties. They get each other in ways none of their other friends do or can. Are they willing to jeopardize that for a bit of spicy fun times between races?

Look, I'm a HUGE fan of the friends to lovers trope. When done well it can give you everything. The banter that only good friends have. The comfort that comes from really knowing someone. And the torture if/when the couple has to split. So yeah, I'm a fan.

When I heard that Carly's second book in the Drive Me series was Theo & Josie--two incredibly loveable side characters from Drive Me Crazy all on their own--I immediately added to my TBR. I was so lucky to be given an ARC copy ... and loved every minute of it.

"So why the 3 peppers?" Glad you asked: this book isn't overly spicy. At least, I didn't think so. I felt like those scenes were... well--peppered into the story in just the right places. The spice fit the characters which is such a big deal; barring any Jekyll and Hyde situation: you can't give me two different personalities and expect me to believe it the way I did with these two.

And if you're new to racing-- same. I have never read anything in this avenue of sports-romance, but that's not a deal breaker. I haven't read anything that went so far over my head as to pull me from the story.

I'm not sure who the next MCs will be in this series but I'm definitely going to read more!
