Review my "24 in 2024"

ree

I know we're not technically halfway through the year, but sometimes it feels like the end of the school year is a good time to just stop and reflect on the progress I'm making towards the goals I set for myself. I know, personally, I have that double-edged situation where I will think I'm making HUGE LEAPS... and also stuck exactly where I've always been.

So here we go! Let's take a look at where I really am and making sure things don't fall in the cracks.

P: Pride
  • Complete 4 BODi Programs with 1 week delay max

    • Nope. I haven't completed a single one. I am currently on track to finish my first program this year by the time my family goes on vacation though. My injuries are flaring up a lot more this year than in the past, so I've decided to forego the delay caveat. I am just going to make sure I complete 4 programs before 12/31

  • Run two 5Ks

    • Nope. Not even signed up for one! I need to look into this. I know I'll probably do the local 5K that supports our music and dance programs around me. A lot of the others are an hour drive. With races at 8-9am... that's sooo early! But I will find another one to sign up for this summer.

  • Walk 240 minutes per week.

    • This is shifted. With my work schedule now, I really can't commit to walking + working out + writing + growing as a professional author. So I make sure to hit my step goal of 8K steps a day 5 days a week minimum. I have done this consistently pending illness. (When C-19 took me out, there was NO movement! lol)

  • Publish 4 books

    • On track. I have published one already. I am writing another. I have a plan to write at least one more full length book this year. I am committed to two smaller writing projects later this year and I am working on having at least 1 audiobook released. That will require me to do extensive listening and editing so I'm considering that as a "published book" even if it's not a written one.

  • Newsletter Subscriber reach 480

    • I definitely grew my newsletter at the start of the year. Since then I haven't had the growth that I'd hoped for. I am signing up for webinars though to help me with this goal.

  • Monthly income to support 1 project.

    • In progress. I have had at least one month each quarter where I have made enough to support a project.

    • Last year I added up all my expenses with projected expenses, divided that by 12 months and came up with what I would need to earn to stay on track. And I had a month where that's month income would support my monthly requirements.

I: Intelligence
  • Attend 4 seminars

    • Done! I have attended 4 webinars and I'm actually signed up for another one next week

  • Read 6 Self-Awareness Books/Memoirs

    • In progress. I've read 2 Self-Awareness Books. I'm currently reading one that is part self-awareness, part memoir. I pre-ordered Tom Selleck's Memoir, but it was delayed until July.

  • Read 1 Finance book

    • Nope. Need to work on this.

  • Save $600 this year.

    • Sort of? I have managed to give my partner on average $700 a month to pay towards my St. Loans and car payment. Currently he is still able to cover those with his income so what I give him has gone into the family savings account. What do you think? Count it?

  • Find 1 Online Course to take

    • No. I have taken a few webinars, but those weren't really online courses.

  • 30 Days of Culture.

    • Nope. Not one day has been dedicated to this. Clearly this goal requires more planning than I anticipated!

N: Novelty
  • Find Perfect "Daily Wear" Jewelry

    • Yes! I have found my daily necklaces, bracelets, watch band, and rings. Earrings are hit or miss. I also asked for a necklace/ring/earring set for my birthday. (All from Amazon! lol)

  • Attend Romance Author/Reader Meet-up

    • I just went to one this past weekend!

  • 4 Cross stitch projects.

    • Nope. I did find my drawer of doom where my previously purchased projects had gone to die. I'm packing one of those to take with me on the family trip next month.

  • Celebrate Son/Daughter Days.

    • These aren't until September so I can't do this yet. But I did look up the dates and put the reminder in my phone and planner and calendar on the fridge.

  • Have blankets made with kids' baby clothes

    • No. Haven't even looked for someone who can do this.

  • New Lamp.

    • Not yet. The issue is that we're turning one of the rooms in our house into the computer room for our kids. This will give me my space back to write and read. But until that room's done, there's not really space for a lamp as it is. I don't like to buy things and then hold onto them. So this one is paused until we finish laying the floor in that room.

K: Kindness
  • Send 6 notes of encouragement

    • I've sent 2. Not too bad. Need to stay on top of this though.

  • Donate 4-6 items

    • Nope. We're having a yard sale next month and anything that doesn't sell will be donated though. So I have a plan in place and somewhere to take everything, but nothing was donated as of today.

  • Promote 1 new project per month

    • This took a different turn. I reactivated my personal IG page and made it a book review account. So now I can ARC read and promote authors/books I love. If that's 1 a month, cool. Sometimes it's 2-3; other times there aren't books for me review (i.e. I wasn't selected from the PR company. It happens)

  • Donate Plasma twice a month when possible

    • Not once. My medical issues have made it so I can't donate. Also working nights and sleeping when my kids are in school means that I can't make it to the center on a schedule. When I would be able to go, I'd be in line waiting for 4-6 hours and I don't have time for that. This might have to go as it's just not possible right now.

  • Do 4 random acts of kindness.

    • This was way too vague. I need to sit down and find a way to make this realistic and accountable.

  • Blank: Dinner with my best friend in Texas

    • I went to Texas and got to have dinner with my best friend of 25 years. I haven't seen her in person in 12 years. We even went back to the AirBnb and our boys threw a football and played tag for like an hour. I'm counting this because it filled my cup.

What do we think?

Well I mean, I've definitely made progress on a lot. I have things in motion that I can't do anything about now but I've planned for.

And there are also a lot of items that would have slipped through the cracks if I hadn't done this review. Now I know that I have a lot of planning to do if I want to accomplish even more.

  • Done: 5

  • Nope: 12

    • Of these, I need to change 2 of them completely because they aren't feasible either because of timing issues, medical reasons, or just generally bad goals.

    • Some of these aren't done yet because they just can't be. I can't celebrate Son/Daughter Days until September. So... yeah. It's debateable on if this is "In Progress" or "Nope" because of this.

  • In Progress: 7

    • A lot of these are on-going goals. They are either goals that I've planned to span an entire year or can't be completed quickly. Some have time constraints that mean I can't even do them yet.

Did you make a 24 for 2024 list? What was/is on yours? What progress have you made towards your list? I want to know!

24 for 2045 list

  • Made a list and chugging along!

  • Made a list but it's hit or miss right now.

  • Made a list and just totally forgot about it!

  • Eh, this isn't my thing.
